Born and raised in South Miami, Andrew grew up fascinated by the local flora and fauna from Key Biscayne to Key West. He graduated from Coral Gables S.H.S. and received his BA from FIU. Along with a deep respect and admiration for the native plant and animal species, he also developed a great love for the ocean. He became a State and National Freediving Spearfishing champion, and represented the United States in three World Spearfishing championships.
In 2010, he became fixated on turning what was basically a sterile yard into a wildlife sanctuary. The end result turned out to be one of the finest examples of a wildlife garden in South Florida. He has given numerous tours of his yard for the Miami Blue chapter of the North American Butterfly Association as it set the standard for the "best butterfly garden in Miami".
Andrew's goal is to share his knowledge and passion so that others can attain such a rewarding experience with nature in their own yards.
